PST on Surety Premiums

In accordance to the Government of Saskatchewan Ministry of Finance Information Bulletin PST-73 below, all surety premiums covering Saskatchewan based commercial and contract surety will be subject to the 6% provincial sales tax effective August 1, 2017.

Information Bulletin PST-73, Information for Vendors of Insurance Contracts is new and provides guidance regarding the application of Provincial Sales Tax to insurance contracts effective August 1, 2017.
