WSC Achieves A- Financial Strength Rating from AM Best

Western Surety Company (WSC) is proud to announce that it has been assigned a Financial Strength Rating of A- (Excellent) and a Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating of “a-“ by AM Best.

AM Best is a global credit rating agency, new publisher and data analytics provider specializing in the insurance industry. Headquartered in the United States and conducting business in over 100 countries, AM Best’s Credit Ratings are internationally recognized as a benchmark for measuring an organization’s financial strength and stability.

In its press release dated June 9, 2020, AM Best indicated that the ratings “reflect WSC’s balance sheet strength, which is categorized as very strong” and delivers positives relative to operating performance and overall enterprise risk management.

Established in 1909, Western Surety Company has been continuously owned by the Hill Family of Regina, Saskatchewan. It is the only insurance company in Canada that exclusively writes contract bonds for the construction industry as well as a complete line of commercial surety bonds.
