WSC Completes Claims Team “Trifecta”
Western Surety Company (“WSC”) President and CEO, Scott Donald, is pleased to announce the hiring of Jordan Richards to the roles of General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, effective January 1, 2022.
Jordan has over 7 years of experience, both in private practice and as in-house counsel. Jordan began his legal career with McDougall Gauley LLP where he practiced in the areas of corporate/ commercial law and insolvency & restructuring. Jordan then moved to Crown Investments Corporation where he provided legal advice to Saskatchewan's commercial crown corporations.
Jordan obtained his law degree (Juris Doctor, Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to attending law school, Jordan obtained his B.B.A. (Finance, Great Distinction) and a Certificate in Economics from the University of Regina.
Outside of work, Jordan enjoys both playing and watching hockey (plays on two teams and cheers for the Toronto Maple Leafs). During the summer months, you will find him spending time at the family cabin.
Jordan joins recent WSC additions James Toothill, Chief Claims Manager & Privacy Officer and Connor Chow, Manager, Construction Projects and Solutions within a revised internal claims team. “WSC can now provide a wider array of support in areas such as claims management, dispute resolution, as well as legal and regulatory compliance,” indicates Donald. “The team’s expertise will allow WSC to provide enhanced claims handling service centered around communication and collaboration.”
Condolences
WSC would also like to recognize the recent passing of James (Jim) Miller in Vancouver on December 28, 2021. Jim was a long time WSC broker with Argus Agencies up to 1999. He was the epitome of a true “character” in our industry and is fondly remembered by many current and retired WSC employees.
