After more than four decades of dedicated service in the surety industry, Scott Donald, President and CEO of Western Surety Company ("WSC") has announced he is stepping down from both of these roles at December 31, 2024.

Scott's journey in the industry began in 1981, and he joined WSC in 1987 as a Senior Underwriter. Over the
years, his expertise and leadership guided the company through significant growth and success. In 1994,
Scott was promoted to Assistant General Manager, and by 2001, he had taken on the role of Underwriting
Manager. Over those years, his expertise and leadership influenced the significant growth and continued
success of WSC; culminating on January 1, 2008, appointments to President and Chief Operating Officer. The
pinnacle of his WSC tenure was reached three years later on January 1, 2011 when Scott was promoted to
President and Chief Executive Officer, roles that he has held with distinction and loyalty.
As Scott cedes the dual roles to Greg Salmon, currently a Senior Vice President with close to 15 years of WSC employment, we are pleased to share that he will continue to contribute his vast expertise to WSC in a reduced capacity, focusing on managing our reinsurance program, remaining on as a Director of the WSC Board and leading various 'special projects'. "WSC has been in my blood for well over half my life; a most enjoyable career and enhanced by the incredible people I have met along the way. These include colleagues, directors, brokers, contractors, reinsurers, competitors, and numerous other stakeholders. I also had the privilege of WSC employment through three generations of the Hill Family: Fred W. Hill, Paul J. Hill, and current Chair, Matthew Hill" Donald acknowledges.

As Scott steps back into his reduced role effective January 1, 2025, we extend our deepest gratitude for his leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to WSC. His impact on the company and the industry will be felt for years to come and we wish him all the best in the next chapter of his life.
