Today we're congratulating Danny Riviere, who is retiring after 32 years in the surety/insurance business.

Western Surety's head office staff in Regina will miss this gentleman. He brought us vast experience from both inside and outside the company.

Danny worked here on two separate occasions. The first stint was from 1997-2001 and he then rejoined Western Surety in 2008 as Internal Underwriting Manager.

But his career in surety began even further back – in 1981, the same year he graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. It was that year that Danny and current WSC President, Scott Donald, started their surety careers with the Saskatchewan Government Insurance company.

Then In 1986 he obtained his Certified Management Accounting (CMA) designation, and in 1992 became a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of Canada.

That long path will take a big turn on April 24 of this year, when Danny steps into retirement.

His plan: to enjoy more time with his wife, Dorothy, and their three children, travel extensively to warmer climates to improve his golf game and, finally, live long enough to see his Montreal Canadiens win several more Stanley Cups!

All the best, Danny, from all of us!
